Far Cry 6 has leaked due to a PlayStation Store Hong Kong listing, confirming Giancarlo Esposito as the game's villain, and providing a suggested release date of February 18, 2021. The game will also seemingly receive a free PS4-PS5 upgrade.
According to the description in the listing, the game's plot is staged on the island of Yara, "the largest Far Cry playground to date" and "a tropical paradise frozen in time" (which sounds something like a Cuban setting). Giancarlo Esposito's character is seemingly called Anton Castillo and serves as the dictator of the island. The young chap in the image below is his son, Diego, who is "following in his bloody footsteps" as he attempts to restore his nation back to its former glory.
The protagonist is apparently a local Yaran called Dani Rojas, a guerilla soldier fighting for freedom. You will employ "makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos, the new fangs for hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground."
As fans have dug into the listing, it has also been revealed that the PS5 version of the game will arrive as a free upgrade, so you'll only have to purchase the game one time to play it across both generations. The game also has a 2-player multiplayer mode, and offers preorder bonuses, including a "state-of-the-art Discos Lobos weapon" and "a skin for Chorizo," whoever that is...
We're sure to hear more about Far Cry 6 this weekend during the Ubisoft Forward event, where it was most likely set to debut. For the full line-up of expected games and instructions on how to watch the show, check out our article here.
It marks the third major Ubisoft game to leak before the event, after Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay and Watch Dogs: Legion screenshots hit the internet unexpectedly.

Having Giancarlo Esposito will be an instant buy for me. I enjoy 5 (Never played New Dawn, but will the next time it's on sale on the PS Store).
I guess you still have to offer a free upgrade even if it releases after the PS5 does

It’s ok. Fun gameplay and I liked the crafting but the story and villains are garbage.
My rankings:
1. FarCry 4
2. FarCry 3
3. FarCry Instincts (Includes Evolution)
4. FarCry 5
5. FarCry: Blood Dragon
6. FarCry: Primal
7. FarCry 2
8. FarCry: New Dawn
9. FarCry 1

Instincts had by far the best PvP of any game in the series. I really wish they would remaster it.

FC3 was the only game in the series that had a decent storyline and Vaas was pretty damn good villain. I'll wait to see what everyone thinks about this game before buying it

After the shitstain of TLOU2, I picked a game out of my backlog and tried Far Cry 5. After getting used to the gameplay and really narrow first-person view, I really like it. Beat it yesterday. As the world burns, somehow the story line seems appropriate
The idea of a bigger Ubisoft map makes me groan, though. Doing the same 5 mission/side mission variants 500 times seems brutal.

I love Far Cry games, no matter how shtty the story.
It is fun to be dumped into a world and just explore.
Amazing voice actor.

I understand that, the other stories don't push you along in any way. Honestly you forget most of the time what the main objective is in FC4 and FC5.
But wondering around, killing animals and liberating outposts is fun. Those games have a good sense of discovery.

I agree. I remember thinking the game was a breath of fresh air while playing it.

I honestly thought FarCry 4 was the best in terms of missions. The overarching story wasn’t great, nor was the villain, but each mission felt unique to me. Shangri-La was incredible. Those demons scared the shite out of me at 3 AM.

Hell yeah can't wait! I must be in the minority, I loved 5.

I thought 4 had a great "Villian". He cracked me up with his announcements and on the radio.. I had always played multiplayer games growing up besides like Mario. Had surgery and decided to randomly buy far cry 4. Holy shite did I have fun. Even doing the bell towers that some people hated. I had just never played anything like it. Yes getting some animal skins was annoying. But I loved it. It was so big and so many animals and camps to take over. I was amazed.

I think ppl got lost in the size of 4.
At times I would even forget who I was fighting and why I'm fighting. It was easy when exploring for 20hrs then do a main objective then explore for another 20hrs.
