Finished the Painted World, hit two more bonfires in Anor Londo, found the blacksmith, and opened the shortcuts to him and into the area to invade Lautrec. Couldn't vanquish him tonight. I'll tackle him and head through the fog gate tomorrow.

Lautrec is tough.
You meet the famed Archers yet?

I can't figure out how to get to the Boss in Sen's fortress.
I've been all over the place.
I haven't made it past the legless demons down deep. I've killed all but the two that are together. There's one that loves to jump and pin me.
And call his friend over...
After unsuccessfully navigated to an end point in Sen's I decided to try the demon place with that lava grandpa boss. I didn't do so well. Then I decided to go to the Catacombs now that I can fight my way through the graveyard at Firelink Shrine. I actually made it to a bonfire! I forgot to sit at it after I lit it, so I spawn back far away because I forgot Firelink Shrine is not working.
And lastly, I decided to go up the boardwalk in the Swamp...and I got to another hydra but HE JUMPED FROM ONE LAKE TO ANOTHER!
Crazy. Haha.
This game is humongous.

Re: Sens, just keep going up. Up, up, up. Across bridges with swinging axes. Up past where the giant balls are rolling at you. Eventually you will find a fog door that leads to the exterior of the fortress, and there is a bonfire at a nearby ledge that you drop down to. Then just keep going up, and eventually you'll find the fog gate to the boss.

I did all of this. I made it to the first fog door. I made it past the huge black knight with a mace.
I didn't spot the campfire.
I am talking the place around where some fireblasts are landing on you.
From there I made it across a bridge and all the way up a tower. But it was a dead end.
I also went the down way from the exterior of the fortress where you can see a giant stacking boulders. And beat those enemies. But there were just chests down there.
One other place that I can see is the fortress has a gap in it at eye level with a cage floor. I can't jump there though.
Do I need to rotate the ball contraption to open up access to where the campfire will be, like I did to find the room with the hanging prison cages?

quote:Yeah. Blocked the first arrow and realized that wouldn't work, so I just ran for it. No deaths.

So you go through the fog door. Go up the steps to the next platform up, and to your right will be a ledge you can fall from safely to the only bonfire at Sens. From there, go back into the fortress, then climb back out. Now instead of trailing right where you fought that Bereneke knight & Ricard (further on), instead go up to where those skeleton cages are, where the Giants are firebombing shite. If you keep going up that path you'll get to the fog gate. There is a balder knight trying to cross bolt you right outside the room with the fog gate. When you kill that crossbow balder knight, go up the stairs to kill the giant throwing bombs at you. It will make the boss fight much easier.

Damnit guys. Now I want to play through Dark Souls again for the 8th time.

Thank you!
Even with these instructions I still couldn't find it and died 2 times trying to take my time and look around.
Guess what...
I am in Anor Londo! It looks majestic!

Last night I made it through Anor Londo...
Grinded a bit to level myself up some.
I made it to that cathedral with all the white guards in it. They are cool enemies.
I got to a big painting and looked at it. I knew it'd take me to the Painted World you guys were talking about.
What you didn't say was WHEN YOU GO IN YOU CANNOT GET OUT!
So I spent lots of time trying to leave the area. I obviously couldn't. So I decided to complete it. Only problem was, I was out of blooming moss, so no toxic cures for those flame tumor zombie dudes. AND my number 1 weapon was on the verge of BREAKING.
So I had to play this area with my second best weapon (still pretty good). But it was for close combat, so I would definitely be dead if I engaged those toxic guys.
I knew I had to get out of there. So I found a walkthrough online and copied and pasted the whole directions for this area. I then went in and manually removed every little thing to pillage or collect and did the straight up directions.
So I gunned it for the other side of the door in the front. Then I ran to get the key to open the bridge to the boss. Then I took on the big black knight about 3 times until I beat him. I decided to use my best weapon for this...I figure it wouldn't wear down too much in 1 fight. I then decided to run and jump off the ledge and not engage the boss.
I made it back to Anor Lando!!!
I then gunned it past all the white guards all the way to the bonfire, didn't turn around or nothing.
Whew.
This morning I got my weapon repaired. Thank goodness.
Now, back in Anor Lando, I'm still grinding.
I have to say I am a little happy about my abilities to engage enemies. I have yet to die in Anor Lando from grinding or any exploring with hand to hand combat.
I have died twice while trying to climb up to where those longsword shooting guys are. I made it up to one but fell off when I took a swipe. At least I can hang my hat on my ground attack skills.

Also, random question:
Are these gargoyles I'm fighting in Anor Lando the same level as the ones I fought on the roof of the Bell Tower earlier in the game?

They might have the same health pool, but your weapon should be upgraded enough that you shouldn't have too many issues.

Just killed Pinwheel. Got the Mask of the Father...boo. And none of the necros dropped a skull latern. Now I have to figure out how I'm going to get through the Tomb of the Giants without a light source.
Posted on 3/5/16 at 2:18 pm to Devious
There is one towards the end that's kind of hidden that drops one.

I do know of one more necro I need to kill. He's to the left of the wheel skeleton room protected by the two archers.

I think he drops a lantern 100% of the time.
