Finally bringing Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Dracula X and the masterful Aria of Sorrow to folks who didn't catch them the first time on the Game Boy Advance.

Save states, boss rushes and beastiaries said to be added, too.

I picked up on the Switch but have been too busy to start Aria yet.

Don’t think I have played Circle Of The Moon since shortly after the GBA launched.

Playing a game that dark on a handheld with notable lighting issues was a goddamn nightmare.

Played them all over the summer and they were a blast. Super happy people are getting to experience these games that haven't. Def will get it at some point. Lots of replayability.

One of those definitely isn't like the others.

Did you ever adjust the brightness of the screen? There was this tiny "screw" under the label on the backside and you could turn it clockwise with a tiny flathead. Obviously it voided the warranty though.

Nope.

Besides the warranty, main reason I didn’t was that I didn’t know that existed.

Trying to play that on an airplane ride fricking sucked. Good thing I had Super Mario Advance, Krazy Racers, and some other very bright games to play as well.

Pretty cool; this is the third such Castlevania collection. First one was the classics and next was Rondo/Symphony

CotM is one of the most underrated games in the series. As for brightness issues, get an AGS-101 backlit SP

The backlit GBA SP was definitely the way to go. I think I still have my blue one somewhere.

Lots of good times with Aria, Advance Wars & Tactics Ogre.

They should’ve included the PSP Rondo remake.

FWIW, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection is on sale in the Nintendo E-Shop at an irresistible $4.99:

Castlevania
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Super Castlevania IV
Castlevania The Adventure
Castlevania II Belmont's Revenge
Castlevania Bloodlines
Kid Dracula (never released in English before)
History of Castlevania - Book of the Crescent Moon

At $5, I don't know how you turn this down. It's a great deal at $20. Sale runs through midnight Sunday night.

Those were limited to the PS store, I thought. They were bundled together in a release from a couple of years ago on the PS4.

Neither are available on Switch yet.

FWIW there's a bestiary mechanic in Aria that will pop up an icon telling you if you've collected that particular mob's soul yet that I don't recall being present in the GBA game. Nice addition.
