Why does anyone eat grass fed and finished beef? That is a marketing gimmick. I raised angus beef and we raised them in grass and dismissed them in South LA on corn and rice bran for a month before killing them on the ranch while quiet and not adrenaline pumping and it’s the best beef you can eat.

The adrenaline is something not everyone considers. My BiL loads his up and takes them for a couple of rides before their last ride. Says once they get use to it, they like riding, just like dogs. That way, they aren't all stressed out when he takes them for that final ride to the processor.

Not sure what that means but before mad cow disease we used to shoot our steer calf as he quietly ate by himself on his own feed pile. Anyone who knows cows knows they are in heaven when they have good feed and no other cows competing. No adrenaline. But the industry is doing all they can to prevent home cattle raising and slaughter. After that we hauled steer calf’s live to slaughterhouse and they SAID they let the calf quiet down before killing but that calf was sooo sacred and wary and hyped up being key out of trailer to a slaughter house. So now we raise and kill and butcher here. Family only:
