What are the best Bread Crumbs and Panko?

I've been frying a lot of veggies lately, and made some fried green tomatoes tonight with these:



they turned out pretty good.

I also make some chicken parm with these:



While they both were pretty good, I couldn't help but feel that they were missing something extra. Does the F&DB have a goto for breadcrumbs and panko?

Season your food & season your breadcrumbs.

If using the 3 step breading process, season the food product to be breaded, flour, egg wash, & bread crumbs.

That's what I did with the tomatoes tonight, but the bread crumbs almost overpowered it with a breading taste. Don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should put some seasoning in the panko as well, it just tastes so plain. Thanks for the rec.

How thick did you slice the tomato?

Might want to go a little thicker to adjust for that.
