My father in law told me he used the Bengal as his bank in the 60's. He had a bar tab, would borrow money off that tab, eat and drink pretty much only there, and just hand his check/money over to them whenever he got paid. Used to take tests for athletes for money.

Man, this is weird.
I was thinking of him and the Bengal just yesterday and I haven't thought of that in probably 15 years.
And yes, they had great food, roast beef poboy was awesome.
Used to go in there and get a couple of $0.40 hot dogs and a bag of sour cream and onion Lay"s chips and wash them down with a few Falstaff longnecks.
Sorry to hear of his passing.

Lots, actually just bought the land about a month ago, but it wasn’t from Steve.
