So I f'd up the gumbo....

But im rolling with it anyway.
Put the vegetables in the roux and it started to stick to the bottom and burned. Hurried up, changed pots and it seems fine.
Then it all boiled over, making the house smell pretty bad.
Whatever, I'm good its all for the inlaws.

Sounds like you recovered well from a near disaster. Clean the stove later, enjoy the gumbo. It’s a very forgiving dish. Too many try to make it complicated and rare.

Yup, got lucky I had another pot easily accessible.
