Prime steaks and fresh fish in Monroe

The Vieux Carre Market on 18th has some awesome meat and fish. The steaks are prime, dry aged. The fish is flown in fresh each week. Got a porterhouse and a ribeye(bone in), both over 2 lbs. last night. Both were excellent. Also had the chef cut 4 seabass steaks(6 oz each and ill tempered of course)...they turned out perfect. They usually have a whole halibut in the cooler, and that's one of my favorites. One of the owners is a former Commander's chef, John Peters. Locals up here need to give this place a shot. It's a unique grocery for our area.
