As the title says - I need some easy on the stomach but tasty food / recipe suggestions for a relative who is laid up in the hospital for a while and needs to put on some weight because the hospital food sucks or is simply too dry for him to eat easily. Anything would be appreciated, including prayers.

I've got staples covered, like chicken noodle soup, BRAT diet, etc.

Smoothies with good fruit
Yogurt
Eggs, particularly hard boiled perhaps or maybe quiche without anything that might be difficult to digest if that's an issue.
Baked potatoes or stuffed or mashed
Oatmeal
Custard
Avocados
Chicken pot pie with whatever ingredients your relative is able to eat.
Some sort of wrap with ingredients your relative likes and can eat.

ETA: Maybe pick up some flan from a local Mexican restaurant or some from a store near the jello. I had a decent one from a store one time when I bought some for a sick friend.

Poached chicken or fish.
Tuna fish salad.

I know you mentioned you had chicken noodle soup, but Chic Fil A makes a fine one for emergencies. I lived on it for days when I had Covid. Had DoorDash deliver several bowls daily.

Potato soup with no garnishes or whatever garnishes the relative can and likes to eat.You can make a very quick pureed potato soup with potato flakes and chicken stock. Add whatever you like. I've made one that Jacques Pepin makes with gruyere and it's delicious. I add sauteed leeks to it.
