While bacteria will indeed die in the micro wave, it's not always the bacteria that get you...

Some bacteria, like Botulism and Salmonella, produce a toxin as a waste product while they are in the "danger zone" of 40-140F. If this toxin is present, you could microwave it for 6 hours and it will still kill you dead. Botulism is anerobic, so not likely present on a pizza, but very likely in a jambalaya pot or gumbo, etc... Refrigerate your food folks. It all fun and games till one of your relatives die or ends up as a paraplegic.
