Jambalaya pot (7-10 gallon) and burner recommendations?
Posted by SUB

I’m exploring getting a big jambalaya pot. Anyone have a recommendation for a pot and stand?
I have a single jet bayou classic with a deflector shield. Will this work ok for a jambalaya pot or do I need a banjo burner?
Edit. I should add that I am in central TX, so don’t have easy access to local places that have pot and burner rigs.

I bought a 15 gallon setup from Gary Mattes a few years ago. They had a hell of a selection but I think a few on here get ‘em in Gonzales

You really need a dedicated rig including burner, a jet burner even with deflector is just too much
Glavez hardware, Lamendolas supermarket both have a large selection and expert advice
R&R welding In Paulina has some great setups, I got my 20 gal from him and could not be happier

I didn’t like any of the new pots that are on the market because the insides are very rough. I went to several antique shops around Lafayette and New Orleans and found a really old one that was well seasoned and had a very smooth inside. I paid more than new but it pays off.

You are correct about the smoothness of an old pot, if you can find one go for it, but with enough use the new ones smooth out as well
