I plan out the week's menu as I'm shopping. I like to alternate red and white meat. Unless it's a big purchase like a whole ribeye, I don't freeze meat if I can help it. I also plan according to my schedule, i know which nights are busiest and which nights i can do something that takes a lil longer to cook.

Forgot to add, I also try to cook things that pack up easily in small tupperware and still taste good after microwaving like pasta, stews, gumbo, etc. That way I always have lunch to bring to work and eat lunch out as little as possible. Saves quite a few $$$.

This is something I've been working on too. I work a lot from home, so it is easier to not have to lug around tupperware, find place in a fridge, share a microwave, and then remember to bring it home at the end of the day.

Again, if I could get my wife to do the same thing, we might be alright.

Thanks for all the tips. I will keep yall updated on how it works out. I'm going to try this out starting in February.
