HGG Restaurant Review - Maison Pucha (Houston, TX)

We enjoyed this place this past Friday night. Their website says "business casual" which is only a suggestion looking around at how everyone was dressed. Some people had jackets on and some had t-shirts and shorts. The service was outstanding (waiter's name was Waylon and looked like Walter White) and the kitchen had several off-the-menu specials for the evening, however we stuck to the menu. See pics below.
I would give this place a 7/10 for those who like modern French cuisine, excellent service, and an overall cozy spot for a date.
Here is the front of the building
The inside has an open kitchen and a modern feel to it. It seemed like we were visiting a spot that Joanna Gaines had designed but once the sun set and lights dimmed, it was very warm and cozy.
Rather than sliced bread, they bring out these "cheese rolls" with your drinks. They were essentially delicate croissants with a light sharp cheese flavor...and were incredibly soft and delicious.
The dinner menu:
For the appetizers, we got the Tiradito De Pescaso and the Ponzu Crab. Both were awesome and I would definitely order the Ponzu Crab again without hesitation. The ponzu was actually a 50/50 mix with traditional ponzu/yuzu....which gave it a strong soy + citrus flavor.
For the entrees, we got the Bouillabaisse and the Peking Duck. Both had great flavors and were cooked perfectly. They tasted as expected, which can be good or bad, depending on your palette. I would try one of the specials if/when we return.
