great meal today at abita springs cafe

we used to go to abita all the time when I lived off 59 but it’s been maybe ten years since the last time. Today we drove over to grab breakfast and whatever

nice farmers market was going on so we grabbed a few things and walked over to the cafe. I had a Benedict with fried catfish and shrimp with hash browns and she had smoked salmon on a bagel with poached eggs and grits.

normally I’m good with “better than it needs to be” but this meal was outstanding, especially mine. I didn’t know I needed fried seafood with egg yolk and hot sauce until I did.

anyway cool place for a Sunday excursion and highly recommended. We stopped at acquistapaces on the way out to replenish the bar as well
