There was a place called Tacos Monterrey on the corner of Sharp and Old Hammond that made the best tacos de barbocoa in this whole damn town

Afreaux... if you notice in last week's "One Restaurant You'd Like To Bring Back" thread I mentioned Tacos Monterrey. That place was awesome.

I'll do a search for the thread, didn't notice it.

If I had one gripe about the place, it's the owner Victor doing me dirty on an order. Buddy of mine got his tacos with corn tortillas, I got flour. They ran out of flour in the kitchen, and instead of just asking if I wanted corn, they made me wait 30 minutes without telling me that they went on a grocery store run

Terrific place to eat, though. Victor ended up going back to his welding job, it was just too hard for him to keep the place open in a hidden spot like that.

I'd just as soon eat only the eggs and shredded beef. I love rice and beans, but I've never been able to fully wrap my head around the idea of eating it for breakfast.

Same thing for the chips and salsa. Nice way to keep me from starving to death before the food is ready, but it feels a little awkward munching on chips at 8AM.
