Widmer Brothers Pitch Black IPA. The hops have a faded a little on this one.

ut, I had a few of those back in the fall/winter when I was tasting lots of Black IPAs. It was my least favorite of the ones I sampled, even when it was fresh. I just don't think Widmer Bros stuff is that great to begin with.

Never had it. Yes, I envy you, but I am glad I don't have to spell that beer.

Still working on this Sculpin IPA and loving it. Wife and daughter out of town--just me and the dog--I may lose count tonight.

Need to get sculpin and try it. Not a hophead though. My store sells 22oz bottles

I thought it was pretty good the first time I tried it. Not on the Stone SSR's level or anything, but a nice, light black IPA. But this one almost tastes like a Shiner Black to me.

I haven't tried anything else by them, so I will reserve judgement on the brewery as a whole..

Read some online reviews and I'd like to try it. I am not sure if it is available here. Lately I've been drinking mainly domestic, Unibroue and Belgian stuff, but I did drink a lot of German hefes and other stuff a while back. Never got to that one though.

This one is really hoppy, but very complex too-think Endeavor. I am one of those guys that loves hop bombs but also enjoys more "balanced" ales too. If I had to pick between Belgian style ales and West Coast style IPAs, I am not sure which way I'd go.

I love Black IPAs. Hop in the Dark, Stone SSR, Clown Shoes Hoppy Feet, etc all great beers! ut gave me one called Dubhe I think that was also very good and in that class.

Mine has never once said "I think you've had enough"

Mine just says "oh, we're gonna hang on the porch a little longer for you to have one more? Sweet! Wanna play with this ball?"

But it is Friday ut and you deserve better than a beer that tastes like a Shiner.

I'm thinking about picking up a couple of chimay blues. Haven't had it in a while and it's one of my favorites. Howdy Kim

I've been trying to find some more Uinta stuff. I think the closest place is Atlanta. I need to find an excuse to go there. Hopefully, there will be a return visit to the SEC championship game.
