Cakes friend just got into town so we’re doing wine, cheese, charcuterie, beer, champagne over here again.

Old Alliance barrel aged old ale. Never heard of it before but it’s good.

I’ve found them to be quite nice. I’m trying to not be an “ugly American” and it’s worked so far.

No proposal this time.

Actually they were mostly super nice when I was there too... but it was 20 years ago and right after 9/11.

Are those grills expensive? I’ve seen the commercials and wasn’t sure.

I got the 36"... think it was $500ish. I can search Amazon to verify.

It's nice though, have it built in to the outdoor kitchen and used the Blackstone stand for my "portable" table saw.

Looks like it's on sale right now for $450, but normally $500 like I thought.

Built-in to the completed outdoor kitchen...

Putting the stand to good use...

Hell yeah, looks great.

Also just had an “only in France” moment. We had a small bottle of red leftover from our Eiffel picnic. We’re taking the metro back to our neighborhood and are gonna drink it on the train. So I accidentally threw away my cheap bottle opener, and we’re sitting down there trying to figure out how to open this bottle. There’s maybe 8 other people total in the station. I joke to the girls that maybe I should just ask if anyone has a wine opener. Not 30 seconds later some guy yells, I look across the tracks, and see a dude holding up a wine opener. He tosses it across the tracks, I make a perfect catch, open our wine, and send it back over basically putting it on the numbers.

The guy saw me trying to open a bottle of wine from 40 yards away and had the tools to help

The guy was on the other side of the tracks too. Trusted me to return it.

It's a wine opener. In Paris. That's like a koozie to us, it's basically disposable unless it's your favorite one.
