Unfortunantly, I spoiled myself while in Germany. I love the Dunkelweizen and Hefeweizen beers. I know these are beer styles instead of specific brands, but I found that in Germany, the specific brewer doesn't really matter that much because they are all so good.

I haven't been able to find a beer that I like as much as the one's I drank over there. Does anyone know of a brand that I can get here that at least somewhat compares to the German beers?

Heiner Brau, a brewery in Covington, makes a decent Hefeweizen and Kolsch. It is pretty widely available in the New Orleans area.


On topic, my favorite beer is St. Bernardus Abt 12.

Try the "Nit Wit" at B.J.'s. It is a seasonal that should be coming out soon, if it is not already out. Just found this info.
