My grandfather on my mom’s side used to do it all the time. I’d always thought it was because he didn’t want the main course to get cold, so he let the salad sit there until he was done eating his dinner. (Italian guy)

I do this. buy my salads on consist on lettuce, cherry tomatoes and ranch... so I don't even know If we should consider it a salad. more of just food to carry the ranch to my mouth

have a main dish with salad, I don't eat the salat after the meal, I just don't have a place
