Could be the worst restaurant in the United States. We were visiting family this weekend and they took us to this place, it was your average fried seafood fare. I was amazed how they were able to completely remove all flavor from their food, the only thing you could taste was the presumably week old oil that everything was fried in. Even the corn on the cob tasted only like the water it was boiled in. The single worst food experience I have ever endured.

Mobile is a culinary wasteland my friend; ive been here since August and im counting the days that i can return home. It makes one appreciate all the fantastic food back home.

You wont find much special in this area. There are some restaurants that put together some great dishes, but too many places are fried seafood, with nothing else special.

ETA: I have eaten at the Blue Gill, once. A blind date wanted to eat there, and that was the only time I ate there, or went out with her.

After countless trips to the Alabama coast for vacations, I have realized that the entire area is really sad when it comes to seafood eateries. You'd think that the proximity to the food source would yield incredible dishes, but for some reason this entire part of the gulf is a seafood wasteland as far as chefs and your taste buds are concerned.
