Interested to hear the F&DB's opinion on Byronz.

I've been a twice-average food and terrible service. My parents went tonight and said the same...however it seems fairly busy.

Anyone have a similar experience? Is this locally owned?

I've been probably a dozen times and have never experienced what you've described.

The food board seems to really like the place

I've never had bad service there. I always like the food and drinks there and the price is extremely reasonable.

Good ambiance, meh food. Bloody Marys at brunch come at a truly stunning price.

Never to doubt anyone but you and your family must caught a off night or a busy night, I find it to be the most consistent restaurant in BR by food and service, for what it is.

Yeah maybe was almost full but no wait. The last time we sat for 10-15 min before our waitress came over, white wine was hot, one person didn't get what they ordered, etc...

Probably just a bad waitress but our group was impressed at all.

Give it another shot, either during brunch or make a reservation for fri/sat and you will be taken care of

Get the blue cheese chips, pot roast, burger, or steak and frite and you will be happy

I don't get the love. I've been enough times to make a judgement and it's definitely a big meh to meh-. It's mostly a bunch of heated up Sysco food. Nothing on the menu is better than average. The pot roast people rave about is Sysco. The blue cheese chips are Sysco. I wish I was wrong. I live a few blocks away, and would go more often

This is what I was told by someone who worked in the kitchen. If I'm wrong, they flat out lied to me, and my bad. Regardless, it's really not that good. Not trying to be a hater at all

I understand I know many if not most of the staff and owner(s), they may get their inventory from sysco but majority of what they cook comes from the kitchen not from precooked from sysco.

I've never been there either, but I see people raving about the steak & frites. My problem is that I eat similar steak at Mariza and Cafe Degas and I don't think that Byronz will be able to measure up.

More a fun dive than great bistro dining, but serves a purpose, especially on a Sunday morning after a bender.

And totally agree on the mediocre pot roast(others that I respect felt the same of theirs), stringy, bland, and not very flavorful gravy.

The Sysco suggestion sounds very plausible.

I hate posting like I'm on the OT on this board but you sound like a freaking tard.

How many times have you actually gone there?

This is a touchy subject. If you don't like BB you'll probably crucified.

I can understand that you might not like the food but don't say its all microwaved crap when that's simply not true.

I don't know if the one in Shreveport changed management or what, but it has sucked balls the last couple of times we went. It used to be our favorite spot. Such a shame.

Did it start in Shreveport? Is this a LA chain?
