I bought the Jacobs in LaPlace that I didn't care for.

I'm not real big on Jacobs. I know a lot of people who are though. Don's is money for me. Great smoke flavor and real lean strips of meat throughout.

Veron's is backup in my house. I like it, and if it weren't for Don's it would most probably be what I used exclusively.

If you like smokey then the Jacobs will be right up your alley. That's why I don't like it.

Kitchen Bouquet but if you tell anyone I told you that I'll deny it. I don't own it or have ever used it but I know people.

I know that Don's has his own smoke house next to the store. Not too sure about Jacobs.

If it's not made in Louisiana
DON'T buy it

i can't get any of those in AZ but in a pinch i use aidell's, which isn't bad. there is also a local sausage maker here in phoenix that makes his own homemade tasso, andouille, and boudin - so in spite of not being able to get the good stuff in louisiana i am set.

If you are having trouble with color you aren't browning your meat or veggies long enough.
