does anybody know of a table that shows what readings(feet) at different cities correlate to flow rate. Curious as to what the red river reading in feet = >1.5 million cfs. Thanks in advance

Its not that easy son. Lots of other factors to be considered.

thank you yoda. I know its not that easy, just looking for general information. I was reading the flood plan linked in the stickied thread and noticed the flow rates they used for that plan. Curious as to the current readings in natchez and how they compare with the cfs used in that plan.

You could chart a rough and general relationship for each gage, but that relationship would be in no way applicable to other gages. One of the reasons hydraulic analysis is as much of an art as a science imo.
Im sure others will disagree to noone's surprise.
This link has charted and pedicted it

thanks for the link. I do realize that it is different at each guage and not a simple calculation. Just trying to find out what reading at red river guage we will be seeing >1.5 mil cfs heading our way.
