Do you guys just use the pen tool or what? I've been taking source pics and basically drawing over them with the pen tool with what I suppose you could call success. I have done a couple projects for class this way that I'm pretty proud of. Any shortcuts I'm not aware of? Attempting my first LSU one at the moment with a pic snagged from Google. Will post unless it turns out to be a trainwreck.

I have used Inkscape and the tool I use to trace with, I believe is called the Belzer tool/pen. It basically draws a straight line. I then go back and drag the line to follow any curves.
