I'm new to this photo editing stuff and what you guys do is out of this world incredible
... But I thought I'd share my first attempt with y'all.

I realize the colors need some work matching up, any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Nice Start !

The color match looks great, probably would just make it slightly
darker to match the body, but it's not that bad as is.
What I do to make it a little bit more real looking, is when I get
the face / head in the right position, I make a few copies of it. I
start with the Top layer and get the color, hue and brightness to
match close. THEN, with the layer below still the original color, I
erase the top layer around the eyeball, eye lashes, and then along
the lips / mouth and the hair (if any) this will take the color tint
out of those areas and make them look more natural color. Gives it
a little more realistic look to the finished work.
When you get it looking like you want it to, merge the two
layers, or flatten it if you're finished with it.
Hope that helps

Great start!

Spurticus gave some great advice.
Really depends on what application you're using as the techniques and tips can vary.
Most apps have a "Cloning Tool", so you could try to match the edges of the beard so you don't have the green spots.
Best thing to do is just keep on keepin' on! Most here have thousands of pics and "practice makes perfect".

Welcome to the board. Good start. I'm still fairly new myself, but I would recommend listening to the old pros and practice, practice, practice. I am figuring out new things all the time.

Hey, you stop that. I love Fournette except for one day a year.
