57 is somewhat surprising, but you're obviously, still Cock-strong.

(I'll be 43 in August.)

Makes sense, too, HooDoo. I'm pretty sure soonerpsycho is around our age without checking his facebook again.

Catahoula comes out with some far-back references, too.

I had a pretty good idea about some of you from the fark suicide thread. I had a pretty good idea about Rattlehead, but Sparticus surprises me. I had him for 30 something. VTdad is up hear somewhere too.

I got on TD the day before the Ruben's thread kicked off and down loaded GIMP pretty quick. Started learning from there. The contributors to this board have been a huge help and big inspiration. I guess it's been about a year and a half.

I bought PS just before Katrina to help photograph my etch-a-sketch art. (you can't photograph them head on without getting the cameras reflection in the pic---so you have to photograph them at an angle. I was learning how to stretch/distort the angled source pic of the screens image and putting it onto a photograph of an etch-a-sketch red border thAt was captured head on.)

Then during Katrina, I saw the Looter farks going around and I caught the bug. Took me until about 2008 until I got decent.

And DAMN. I lurk mostly, rarely comment on anything here but I love you guys' work. Shocked that you're so old. I mean, I guessed 40ish I suppose.

My old man is 57, and now that I think about it alot of your references remind me of crap he says

I've been playing with it for about 7 years myself. Checking out the farks on message boards had me laughing my butt off. The board I'm on now (cockytalk) had just started and the guy that ran the board started the Jad Dean thread that kept me laughing for weeks. . . . .I finally invested in Photoshop Elements (3.0 at the time). Went to the local library and got some books that helped me learn how to do some of the effects.
Funny, I didn't really start doing fark for about a year after getting it, even though it was farks off the net that inspired me to buy it. . .I spent the majority of the first year working with pictures of the family, and playing with some lighting and 3-D effects before I got into farks.
So altogether I've been at it for about 6 years. You learn as you go once you know the basics. Now instead of the local library, I check out YouTube for tips.
