Recommended scanner and cataloging software ?

not really fark material, but thought the picture gurus would have better advice. Move if wrong board.
Looking for a high quality picture scanner to scan old printed photos. Also would like a recommendation on a software that's good for cataloging photos. mostly family stuff.
