if you're bored, or just nice...i am looking to take this logo and change the color schemes to make it LSU purple and gold
maybe outline the M in purple and foll it with gold, then outline the DOT in gold and fill it in purple...vice versa. etc
probably pretty easy, i just don't know shite about photoshop
thanks

Here is the method for Photoshop 7.0:
Create a new layer for your typing (or start typing and it will create a new layer automatically)
Select font/size/color
Menu: Layer > Layer Style > Stroke…
In the pop-up window, check Stroke; adjust the size of the border (3 pixels seems adequate); select the color (remember, for a typical image macro, your font should be white, and your border black, but adjust for picture color if necessary); position should be outside; blend mode normal; opacity 100%

i am looking for something a little more "detailed"
something i could take to a tattoo artist

IMO it's exactly what you said you wanted. Any tattoo artist worth his salt can work with that. Hell they should be able to work with the first one.

i know the tattoo artist can work with it, i just want to see what it would look like (in detail) before i ask him (and pay him) to put pen to paper
i figured it was an easy thing to just change the colors
and as grateful as I am that someone took time to help me out, it just wasn't what i was looking for
i was looking for the colors in the original logo to be altered, not a new logo with dimensions, sizes and shapes changed

It's not really that bad. You didn't say "I want detail" What kind of detail would you want? Like what Easy did (nice one BTW) or something different. You should have said so in the first post.
Sorry for the rant, but GEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
