I have no idea how to figure this out but I figured this my best bet
I work with logos a bunch... and usually deal with just he finished product
I just got a bunch of new logos in an Adobe Illustrator file and I'm trying to isolate each logo and save each 1 on its own
I figured out how to export them as PNGs... but I really need vector (AI, EPS) versions as well and I couldn't figure it out
any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Logos should never be saved (nor used) as .PNGs. They lose a lot of quality once resized. Stick with the .ai and vector files so you can resize all you want while maintaining the quality.
So you’re looking to convert .ai files to vector?
ETA: have a look at this video Here
Pretty sure this is what you need. Good luck

That should t happen with ai files. Like at all.
What version of PS are you on?

I've been on the CC for all Adobe products
I was trying to move the new logo into After Effects to do some tasks with it... but when I expand the logo in AE it starts to distort

You sound knowledgeable enough about what you are doing . I also have AE but the only other thing I would try is to double check that when you import into AE, that ALL the layers are to retain size (assuming it's still on layers and not a vector).
ETA: LINK

I just checked it into Photoshop for the 1st time and it looked fine after I placed it.
This is the 1st time I've ever done anything on AE. I'm very much a novice at it and really want to figure this out.
We roll out this logo in like 3 weeks and I want to make a good AE graphic with it... certainly I'm getting a tiny bit frustrated.
ETA: after the fail with the PNG originally... I've made sure I've been uploading the AI version

that link in your previous post has info I think may be helpful
I left the office before I saw it, so I'll have to try it on either Monday or Tuesday (my Monday's pretty booked up with stuff already)

In AI they are already vector.
Save as .pdf? .eps?

I just figured it out... and it was so freaking simple to fix (and now I know it)
Adobe board FAQ
when you drag the AI logo into After Effects... bring it down into the composition
then you have to click the logo that kinda looks like a star (or the emblem in the New Mexico state flag)
In my AE... it's the 2nd button in the line... next to the creepy logo of a dude looking like a voyeur
Adobe board FAQ
quote:
After Effects must convert imported vector graphics to bitmap (raster) graphics. By default, this conversion (called "rasterization") happens once for a layer, and it happens before transformations, like scaling. This means that scaling such a layer up is really scaling a bitmap image, and that can expose jagged pixelation.
...
You can tell After Effects to rasterize after transformations like scaling, and to do so once per frame, to ensure that each frame is as crisp as possible. Just click the Continuously Rasterize switch for the layer.
