14 yr old daughter is a pretty darn good photographer. She's been using my old imac desktop, but I'd like to get her a laptop with decent, but not too complicated photo software. Suggestions? I don't want to break the bank, just want good enough for her to have some fun and see what she can do. Thanks...

Can't go wrong with another Mac IMHO. I switched to a Mac Mini 2 years ago and haven't looked back since. Best Buy has the MacBook Air for 899 and I believe it's a tax free shopping weekend.

I'd ask the tech board. Ilikelsutoo will steer you in the right direction.
Eta: looks like you already have

Photoshop Elements 12 for $80. Full blown Photoshop CC 2014 for $10/month. Gimp for free.
Refurb Dell with Dell coupons (search the net) if you want to go the PC route. Macbook Air if you want Apple. B&H photo is where I get my Apple products.
Good luck.
Mike

But seriously now folks...I have it, but haven't got much into it. Do you use it to fark? Can see where it's good for batch picture uploading off a camera and doing basic modifications or organizing, but beyond that..

No, not at all for farking hahaha.
I take a shite ton a pictures on various camera's. Lightroom is an amazing program for changing subtleties to reveal massively new pictures. An exaggerated example for instance: Original Redux
Yes, everything done here can be done in PS, but Lightroom streamlined the UI specifically for what you'd need for photography manipulation, not necessarily photography alterations like in PS.
