I downloaded Gimp a long time ago after seeing people here talk about using it. Couldn't figure it out, so I deleted it. Got bored this morning, re-installed it and figured a couple of things out. Still have a long way to go...like figuring out how to rotate or flip just the pasted face selection and not the entire gif, or layering.

IIRC, in gimp you can flip an image (sticker) by dragging the edge of it inward (like you were making it thinner) toward midline and keep going past the other edge...like dragging it into a flip.
