Crossfit Charity T-Shirt Help

Good Afternoon Farking Gods,
I'm trying to help out one of the coaches at a Local Crossfit with tshirt designs for a charity event that they are hosting. I told him that I knew right where to go... Tiger Droppings Fark Board
What is requested is that the pics below have the people cut out and made to look like they are blowing up into pixels.... I have GIMP but could not figure out, for the life of me, how to make it look like a pixel explosion, but keep the people in it visible.. The Charity event is to benefit the family of a little girl from the Denham Springs area with a terminal illness...
