Any way that you could take away the blue background and add a college/university/city scenery in the back ground?
and possibly change the way his hands and face and shirt color are a little bit?
I would like to use the picture for something but i want it to look different enough from the original so that i am not breaking Copyright

lets get some more! One that looks like it can be used as a LOGO. Maybe with both hands on the Book and with slightly different looking feet and possibly a shirt that says College Life in small writing? Take the yellow light from around the head and have nothing in the background.
