You should pay more attention to what's going on at the line of scrimmage before you blame the RB in those situations.
Atlanta tried to show its physical dominance over Philadelphia early with that play calling on the GL, and it was pretty obvious from the beginning they were never the superior force. That kind of result emboldened the Eagles, and shook the Falcons. Despite the result, Freeman still got 4 attempts in a row to score against an elite defense. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
