yah that seems to be the trend.
if someone wouldn't have drafted 8 running backs, we wouldn't have this issue...

Did we ever decide the payout for this league?
Posted on 9/1/11 at 2:09 pm to SwampDonks
no nor keeper rules because no one ever comes in this bitch
Posted on 9/1/11 at 2:11 pm to Hullabaloo
we need to get this shite figured out before the season start
Here's my final votes on both
3 keepers, no penalties
payment
1st - 160
2nd - 60
Team with most points at the end of the regular season - 20
or something along those lines. I'd be okay with adding a 3rd place team too.

how do we go about no penalties though? me and 31 were trying to figure this out earlier.
if we keep 3 players that team can only draft for 12 rds rather than 15

I would like to add that Hubs and I are working diligently behind the scenes to ensure that this league is a success.

Exactly, that's how it's supposed to be.
and draft pick trading is enabled so for those who had a good year and have more than 3 players that can be keepers, they are rewarded and can make trades to weaker teams(thus making that team's keepers better).
for those who don't have enough keepers, they get penalized and end up either having to trade for someone or have to stick with what they got.
Having any sort of penalty for having a good year is incredibly stupid IMO. Going no penalty is the best way. That's how I run my 2 keeper leagues.
3 keepers, no penalties, draft is in reverse order of standings from the previous year. So whoever finishes last this year gets first pick and whoever wins the league gets last pick.

Current idea is for keepers to occupy your first three draft slots. Therefore, a fourth round pick is actually a first.
Posted on 9/1/11 at 2:30 pm to lsu31always
Exactly.
Everyone's keepers account for their first 3 rounds. Nobody is allowed more than 3 keepers, nobody is allowed less. The draft begins in round 4 with the first pick belonging to whoever comes in last this year.

thanks man. a few guys i wish i could change. but oh well.
and about the keeper rule. as long as you have to keep three im fine with no penalties.
for example...why i would want penalties if it was a 1 league keeper
i'm in a 1 keeper league with no penalties. a random draft order also. which in my opinion the last place team should get first pick.
anyway. a guy with the first pick had AP and someone ended up deciding not to keep ray rice. so, now this guy is rolling with ray rice and ap on his team, which is ridiculous! no one should have two top three picks for this year on one team starting off..
in a one keeper league top guys fall through the cracks but in a three keeper league more than likely all the top guys are filtered out before you draft.

CJ
Vjax
Blount
if i only wanna keep CJ and Blount then what?

I don't allow keeping less in my league
I don't know how Yahoo is set up because I run both of mine through ESPN, but if you don't keep all 3 on ESPN that automattically give you a pick before the real draft starts so you can get your 3 keepers. This is extremely unfair because the team doesn't get penalized for not having 3 keepers, or they beat the system by not keeping someone that should be kept, and end up getting someone better
That's why I think it's best to set it at a set in stone 3 keepers. Noone can keep less, noone can keep more. Only fair way that will penalize teams and reward teams for good management.

as long as there's no penalties, i don't really give a shizz how we do keepers. i like the budget idea, because you reward folks for good drafts/pickups on sleepers.
eta: AND you make sure some good players are thrown back into the mix. it involves more decision making.
payout suggestion from me:
winner - bulk of pot
runner up - money back
reg. season winner based on record or high points - money back (so winner or runner up could get an extra $20 or it could prevent the theoretical best team from being boned outta any cheese)

I've never done keepers like that with no penalties. I'd probably be fine with it, but I'm a unsure of a few things.
Is there a limit to how many years you can keep a players?
In this type of format, do people normally just keep their first few draft picks since they are normally your most talented players?

As for limit on the years, that's something we could discuss
As for always keeping your top 3 draft picks, there's always gonna be Fosters and Vicks out there every year. I mean think about it, there would be 36 players kept every year. That top 36 changes constantly.
Plus let's look at my team. My 3rd round pick is Wayne. He's getting up there in age and I very well might not think he's gonna hold up, and therefore wouldn't keep him at the end of the year. Not many people would end up keeping their first 3 picks IMO. It just changes so much.
