The only good Gumbo I get in Houston is made at my house. Houston gumbo tastes like Shreve gumbo - brown goo. I'm from Lafayette so you two redneck N. LA fricks can suck it.

Baton Rouge and chuck as in the lake do not even belong on the list. I will allow though that the chimes duck & andouille gumbo was good.

New Orleans/West Bank or not comparable to Lafayette/Acadiana - two different styles - creole and cajun. I prefer cajun but also like creole.

You're ranking prove my point - people in Shreve got no clue when it comes to gumbo.

Nah I'm with you. Acadiana gumbo > all. I've patterned mine after that style.

Probably the only good thing going for that area though.

will, i was referring to life, not gumbo

btw, the gumbo was pretty solid

it was a runny gumbo, with chicken and sausage in order to please a wide range of people. it also had brown eggs in it, which i found to be weird, but i just didnt get them. the only thing i would have improved was putting okra in it

rondo, WTF, you are not on bookface i dont think
