I don't think that theory bears out homey. it really depends on the shooter, the form and the practice. Kawhi developed with an amazing coach and a decent form to begin with. Ditto with Parker. Lebron actually came into the league as inconsistent but streaky. he was a decent shooter when he kept his form tight.
But for every one that learned, there are more who never did. rondo, rose, wade would still be lethal if they could hit 3s. It could happen.. I just don't think it's a foregone conclusion that simmons will become a decent shooter.
It's crazy- embiid is a MUCH better shooter than simmons
ETA: and that just means I think he caps out at all star rather than super duper star

He doesn't have to develop a 3 to become elite. Why do you keep going back to that?

an outside shot at all Marty v. he literally took his first 15 footer in game 4.
And because it's what I think? And the league has increasingly born out that 3s are the way to play.
Why does the fact that I think differently than you bother you so much?

What theory?

The theory that players definitively develop into better shooters over time.

Oh that's weird. You added a word in there that I didn't say. He could very well suck forever, but he is a high level NBA player that is seemingly interested in improving. I'll bet that he hasn't peaked yet and that he develops a serviceable shot.

Just think where Philly would be had they drafted Staps over Jahlol in '15
Or Zo over Fultz this year.
Zo, Simmons, Staps, Embiid

Fultz is draining fluid from his shoulders, visiting specialists

Your boy Giannis shot .167 from 3 so far this year and 27% for his career. I think he will figure it out but if he doesn't, he's still going to be a capable scorer and a force. Simmons too.

It's not that you think differently it's that you keep referencing a 3pt shot as your main argument against him. Sure the league is moving towards more 3's, but that is because 99% of the guys in the league don't have the physical attributes and basketball IQ that Simmons has.
