Based on what?

The dude averaged 29 a game last year. More than Kyrie will average in Boston this year. Cleveland is still going to need his scoring in a bad way.

On what I think.

1st option to 3rd option.
Way less usage.

Maybe 18ppg, but definitely under 20 ppg IMO

Kyrie averaged 25 a game next to Lebron. Kyrie won't average 29 a game in Boston.

IT will average over 20 pretty easily, and he's not going to be the 3rd option. He will be the 2nd option and the 1st on a lot of nights. Love ain't leap frogging him. That would be too drastic a change. He won't have the ball enough. He relies on others to get shots.

because multiple rumors don't have him returning until february if then. and the cavs will not rush him because they need him for the playoffs more than anything.

I thought you were going to tell me something new. This is a dynasty league. I am not worried about him sitting a few months. I knew that when I drafted him.

so a soon to be 30 year old point sub 6' point guard relying on speed and quickness suffering from a severe hip injury, who was in a ball dominant position pick and roll offense, but then not returning from an injury and being traded to an off ball position with one of the most ball dominant forwards to ever play the game is your answer for how you take it over the top in the dynasty league?

and sitting a few months would be december. sitting til february would be damn near the whole fantasy season.

i'm not saying your team isn't good. i'm just saying the odds aren't in your favor with IT.

He is 28. He turns 29 in Feb...but yeah, that's soon to be. Russ Westbrook is older then him by a few months. "soon to be 30 year old"...

I am sorry but I hate when people post stuff like this for the sake of winning an internet argument. Did not read the rest because of that. I don't really care either way. He is a 2nd round talent that I got in the 4th based on an injury that will keep him out 3-4 months. He ain't going to break my team if he never plays again, but I have seen it before in these leagues where someone is undervalued because of something like this (Paul George comes to mind) and in hindsight it looks dumb.

he'll be 29 by the time he plays another game. this season will be a wash for him. he is literally an under 6' point guard. he is closer to 5'9. thus, he HAS to have elite agility in order to get his shot over other players. a hip, specifically a labrum tear, is no small thing. either is age.

russell westbrook is 6'4 and bull strong. he also jumps higher than most point guards. and also is a freak type of athlete who heals from an injury and comes back even stronger. but yes, there will come a day when russell westbrook either slows down and will not have peak athleticism. and then his game will suffer. not all players games are age/athleticism reliant. paul pierce for instance. kobe for instance.

tell me, what is the shelf life for the under 6' point guard in the NBA. think of the elite ones. tell me at what age they started their downhill process. the first isaiah. iverson. bogues. kevin johnson. i'll give you a hint: it's around 30. it makes sense. to be a shorter player in the nba requires elite athleticism and quickness to overcome the height differential. even CP is starting to show his wear.

IT has peaked. last year was the perfect position for him. perfect coach. perfect offense. lue is not nearly as ingenuitive as stevens. also, he was the only creator/facilitator on the whole team instead of horford. the ball will be in lebron's hands end of game, not his.

IT had a usage rate of 34.8 last year. the highest kyrie has ever had playing alongside lebron is 30, and that's the most lebron has ever delegated to a teammate. so even if IT comes in and runs at a level only given to kyrie after three years playing together, that's 5 percent less plays run through I.T.

paul george was 24 when he was injured. we'll see about IT.
my bet is that darren collison is more valuable than IT this year and maybe next too.

lastly, what the he hell is this thread if not the place to speculate and talk about the things that we think will and won't happen with fantasy?

Thanks for typing all of that. But it's random as hell because nobody is arguing against it. Maybe you are bored? Thomas ain't averaging 16 ppg though and he's not the 3rd option. I don't care about anything else you typed. 4th round pick, will fit in nice when he plays. Don't care about anything else and ain't bragging on him either, just using common sense.

man. i was just saying that i agreed with 21JS and talking about why, while providing facts supporting that argument.

i mistakenly thought this thread was for talking about basketball and fantasy basketball-related activity.

I didn't see any supporting facts. You were talking about him being close to 30 and exaggerated a bunch of things to prove an undetermined point when we were talking about his fit with Cleveland. I assumed we were talking this year because I doubt he will be back next year. The dude averaged 29 a game on a team where he had to do a ton. He won't have near the pressure this year and IMO will pretty easily be a 20 PPG scorer. Shots will be much easier for him. He is a scorer...that will be his role in Cleveland this year. If it isn't I won't be angry, 16 a game for a 4th round pick seems like good value but I am betting he's better than that because when he plays he's no doubt the 2nd option.

He's definitely averaging under 20 ppg though.

Too many mouths, less shots and Fts.

Less MPG too

i give up. anyone else?

i simultaneously see port saying he didn't read what i wrote. then criticizing me for posting a lot. then arguing with what i'm saying. then ignoring the facts that i did post to bolster a position i had. all while being defensive and saying that if the thing i say happens to be true IS true, then he wouldn't care anyway.

very confusing.

matty i think you used your whole year's worth of blocks last night. either that or you need to switch team names with toula.

You are confused because you can't make up your mind what you want to argue about. I went back and read what you wrote because I was trying to figure out what you were getting at...from your first comment to now, you have gone in circles just arguing to argue, which is what I was trying to avoid.

You told me to get use to IT being out, then you "broke the news" that he would be out a few months. You presented it like I didn't know that.

JS asked me what I thought he would average as a Cav, he gave me his projections (16 a game) and I asked him why.

YOU answered and talked about him being close to 30. He is 28, we were talking about this year, but you started talking about him going down hill. He averaged 29 last season and we are talking about this season

Basically you were talking about him long term, something that I didn't argue with. After I told you I didn't feel like arguing because you were reaching, again on the premise that we were talking about this year, you started spinning it. "It took Kyrie 3 years playing with Lebron to average what he did last year" like that process has to start over.

My points were simple: He is a scorer, he is a great fit next to Lebron, he will be the #2 option most nights and, like Kyrie, will be the #1 option on many other nights. I didn't argue anything else, and I didn't say he was going to come back and lead me to a championship like you have insinuated.

You are a bright guy, but you don't always have to go out of your way to prove that you are the smartest guy in the room. You don't have to invent arguments. I didn't want to spend my afternoon going back and forth, I tried to tap out but here we are.

Not trying to be a douche. Realize it's coming across that way. My fault for that. Going to practice, will catch up later.
