I would like to hear suggestions, but I am all about limiting draft pick trading. I wanted to do that last year.

lets shitcan the whole league and start over

I would love to do that and set it at like 10 keepers.

um no. I sell-out for the first time in 4 years and now looking at a Wiggins/KAT foundation.
Let's gradually increase keepers and work on restricting pick trading.

yes
more keepers will limit and devalue the picks. you really only have to do that IMO

Can only send out the better (lower rd) pick twice a year and cannot trade 1st rders in back to back years.
Also, only one player can be involved per better pick received. This prevents sending multiple role players just to obtain a better pick.
This, coupled with expanding keepers, makes selling and buying that much more strategic. If I'm buying, and can only use 2 picks, i'm going to search for that perfect peice.
If I'm selling, and have to get to 7 or 8 keepers, i have to be strategic in selling as to not hurt my keepers. Also makes trading 3 keepers for 1 stud a risky move.

Other wrinkles, but it kind of complicates things, are:
1- Eliminate pick trading in the offseason
or
2- Can't recoup a pick of same or better value (i.e. if you traded a 2nd, best you can get back in offseason is a 3rd).
Like gyno said, teams aren't penalized enough for going all-in. They either recoup picks in the offseason or start trading future picks once new season starts.

I love when people try to make rules to prevent me from winning.

I'm agianst any restrictions on pick trading. Let the free market reign and allow each owner to act in their own self interest.

I agree...I am fricked this year as a result of my going all out.
Its the nature of the beast

Let's keep 6 this year and add 2 keepers the next 2 years to get to 10.

Reason? It's never gonna be fair to all teams to up the keeper amount. Teams with lots of draft picks this year would have an advantage over teams that sold picks last year. How are we ever gonna increase keepers?
Posted on 7/7/15 at 1:37 pm to MattyV
Because all actions last year were predicated on the knowledge of this years value.
A traded 1st rounder would lose value
Someone could have put effort into maximizing their top 5 and left the cupboard bare and not have a 6th.
You can't make that type of change before this season.
ETA: you can change the rule now but it will be for next year.

I think the best thing to do would be to vote this year and increase them next year, the year after ect.
Posted on 7/7/15 at 1:46 pm to rondo
Understood. So we almost have to wait 2 years to increase keepers as teams with Multiple 1st round picks this year would be in a much better position than teams without a first round pick this year.

Look...I don't think it needs to be changed.
But you can't change the number of keepers for this year right now...no way no how.
