I mean you can say the exact same thing about Jokic, no? Bird is one of my favorite players ever, but he's not known for his athleticism. He was skilled, had one of the greatest basketball IQs ever, and he was insanely competitive, but from an athletic standpoint he was nothing special. Wasn't a great leaper, wasn't the fastest guy on the court, etc.

Watch some old games/clips of Bird playing and remember that he is 6'9". He could move, handle the ball, create space one-one...that's not iq. Jokic can't do that.
