This is his last year to compete. If he fails, he will quit

I never got an offer from Frat. Harris is what I was looking for in a player.

And Harris is the 2nd best SG on his own team. The other also carries SF elig.

I think Harris will be given SF eligibility but I like him better than Barton. Maybe not immediately but long term. I think he has all star potential.

Mwg awfully chirpy since he’s risen from the doldrums.

I mean it’s championship or bust for all his boastfulness.

I’m not a contender, but I’ve got a couple younger guys I think are gonna take a nice step forward.

Guys,

We changed to FAAB this year. In the past if someone wanted someone who wasn't in the player pool, they would alert the commish to have him added and would hold a retired player in place. Do you think with FAAB that the player should be bid on when entering the pool? I am not a league nazi, so this shouldn't be my call. What does the league think?

I agree with you Port that since we have moved to FAAB we have to let that play out. I don't want Trier, but whoever adds him should have to bid on him like any other player. I agree it's not ideal, but it's the most fair solution imo.

I think if the player isn't in the pool, and the commish gets two emails about said player, then it should be awarded to the player who bid more.

My guess with Trier is no one else put in a bid, therefore I am awarded him for 0 FAAB dollars (I didn't add a bid amount). If someone else would have sent you an email or message placing a claim for $1, then he would go to that person.

My reasoning is because we have no clue when ESPN is going to add players. We do not get alerts or updates from the site saying certain players are now available. I'd rather not have to check the player pool every single day waiting for ESPN to add the player.

I agree with you on that, but you are asking the commissioner to keep track of that on top of all the bitching and moaning that takes place in this league. I'm not against your idea, but I'm not asking someone to take on that responsibility.

Also, what if the commish wants to bid on that player and planned on doing so when he gets an email for a claim with a bid amount. Do you see the issue with that?

I understand that as well. Toula has dealt with that for the past few years, not just because we added FAAB.

So is that still your proposal even if it puts the commissioner at a disadvantage? Not sure if you were saying since Toula dealt with it someone else should be ok with it.

Not making a proposal, just stating that Toula has done this every year since the beginning.

We are saying it should be different because of FAAB, but in reality, that shouldn't change anything.

I wasn't going to say this, but that's my issue as well. The first time Tom mentioned him, he wasn't reeally on my radar. Sunday I had him as a potential add after Tom dropped Marshawn Brooks (his placeholder) to get Ariza, but Tom IMed me yesterday saying he wanted to claim him again.

IMO the player should be in the pool and bid on. Just like Tom got Ariza when many didn't know he was available, that stuff is going to happen.

Fair enough. Now that we have FAAB and you can bid on players I think it makes the most sense to wait for the player to become available in the pool and then anyone who wants him can bid on him. Like I said it's not ideal, but I don't think Toula or Port or anyone else should have to handle these requests.

Nothing stopped you from making the claim Monday morning. If no one else claimed him, you had every right to make the claim (as commish with the rules that were in place).
