I dont think anybody but you are arguing for this.

In the NFL the team with most points or best record doesn't get a prize at the end of the year unless they win it all.

I'm arguing because it actually happened to me last year and I don't want to see it happen to you or anyone else again.

You already agreed to $150 for most points. All I'm saying is that would still be skewed towards luck with that payout structure because 1 week of the playoffs can determine such a huge swing in payout.

Putting that much emphasis on one week, whenever it happens to fall, is a flawed system for awarding the best fantasy football owner/team.

And this isn't the NFL so stop with that.

Im just trying to get the last spot and draft date set as of now. Im open either way regarding payouts, but would prefer to keep it the same if everyone isnt on board. Maybe even increasing the buyin by 15 bucks and use that for regular season highscorer would work.

Dj, I'm trying to make this as easy as possible and do what is best for our league.

Playoffs
1st- $600
2nd- $250
3rd- $50

Points Race
1st- $300

The old way tips the payout scales more towards luck vs actual overall season performance. My payout structure will still favor the luck side of this but I'm just fighting for a bit more money on the overall performance side of the scale.

People are fighting this just to fight it. It's fair. It works. And we should try it for one year.

Guess this is what the Saints felt like trying to push for a more fair system.

I'm fine with the current payout. You are the one fighting against it
I'm just trying to compromise

Playing entire season “for free” for scoring highest points is plenty. Give highest points $100, not more. Scoring the 2nd/3rd highest points every week consistently doesn’t make you the best team anyway.

And going 7-6 then doing well 3 weeks at the end of a season is defines "best team" to you and is worthy of $850? No fricking way, new guy(s).

Like I said, I'm not trying to remove to the playoffs at all. In fact, the playoff winner still gets the majority of the prize pool. I'm simply balancing the payouts to give slightly more consideration to the team that performs the best over the course of a season vs a team that "makes a run."

That's all.

Scoring more points than any other team, technically makes you the best team. You're whole argument is simply "that's not how the NFL does it" and the "best team doesn't always win." Well I say frick that. We can determine our own rules here and I think it's totally fair to set aside 25% of the pot to the actual best team....the team that is able to put up more points than any other team.

It really is shocking you are so hung up on this concept.
Everyone who has played any fantasy sport has ended up in this situation, accepts it, and hopes for better luck next year (or becomes a quitter and stops playing).

What can I say, I'm shaking up the entire system I guess. I think it's a more legit way to distribute prize money and will actually benefit and protect everyone in the league.

This really is an insufferable amount of whining and complaining over something that occurred over eight months ago.

You can try to make me feel bad or wrong about this but I'm fighting for a change that will make things better. I enjoy this shite but I am also super competitive, take my drafts seriously and go hard on the wire. I simply hate the luck factor that is involved. I get that it has been a part of fantasy football for so long but it's so outdated and stupid if you think about it.

I'm just asking to minimize the luck factor, just a bit, by setting aside $300 for the points race. Just asking you and other to give it a try for one year.

As I said, making the playoffs two weeks long will reduce the luck factor but most people don’t want to play in that type of league.
If we are going to try something new (just for one year), a better change would be 3-6 IDP starters instead of DEF/ST.

ETA
If you get your money back you played all year and had alll that fun over 16 weeks for free. What’s better than that then actually taking home the championship?

Or just be open to logic, not fight me over $300 and make this very very easy vs fricking around with position requirements.

Getting my money back for being clearly the best team is not "fun" to me. A team can still take home the Championship and $600 and still potentially win the points as well. So that. That would be better.

More than $100 is ridiculous for highest points.

Look at those standings I posted and tell me that me winning $300 last year would have been "ridiculous." You say that because you've never been in a league that does this. I have. It works. You are just afraid of change. I get it. I'm asking you to trust me on this.

I have played in leagues where highest weekly points every week gets $10, we could do that instead.
I am against your participation trophy concept.

The 2007 Patriots went 16-0 but lost to a 10-6 giants team that happened to get hot at right time.

Its the playoffs shite happens
