With the way our league currently awards prize money, weeks 1-14 are pretty meaningless for the actual best teams.

As Bulldog pointed out, the entire fantasy football season basically comes down to weeks 15 and 16...so technically the whole season is only two weeks in mind right now.

If a top BYE team has a stinker game(as happens during 16 weeks of Fantasy football) during week 15 then you're TOAST...no shot to win the money.

That's kinda been my whole point. For a 16 week season, way too much emphasis is being put on those last few weeks, simply in the name of having a "playoff."

I feel, and will continue to feel, that rewarding a modest 25% of the prize pool to the team that ends up with the most total points through 16 weeks involves much less luck than rewarding 70% of the prize pool to the team that wins weeks 14-16.

Our last two champs went into the "playoffs":

2018 7-6, 5th in points
2017 8-5, 5th in points

Says the guy who just finished 1-6 with 4 sub 100 scoring weeks. Actually, in this league, your team is a perfect candidate to win all the money this year.

And, finish 1st??? There are 3 weeks left in the season. Under my proposed payout changes, the $300 to the actual best team in the league would not be decided until after week 16. And I said we could do this by overall points OR overall t6b6 record AFTER 16 weeks of play. Sure, it might not be my team, but I’d still like to see the clear-cut best team walking away with significant money each season.

Untouchables or myself could have an off week in week 15(just one week) and then have no shot at the big prize. And that’s exactly what happened to me last year, I finished with the best overall t6b6 record AND most overall points after SIXTEEN weeks and walked away with $0. And guess what, it could very easily happen again this year. Is that a fair system? I don’t think it is. And it’s a very easy fix. That’s what I’ve been trying to explain to you knuckleheads all year.

But it’s cool, we’ll just let another 7-6 team take home all the money for the third year in a row. That totally seems more fair. Plus...it’s how the NFL does it.

Well this is ironic. Perhaps you should take a course in negotiating. Trying to get people to agree with you by insulting them and their point of view from the start of your proposal is not the way to go about it. You had already lost your argument before it barely got off the ground on that fact alone.
