yes, i do.

So, I'm reading Matthew Berry's 50 random facts, gonna post a few of the "shocking" ones that I found interesting.

quote:

Only five pitchers in baseball last year had more quality starts than Randy Wolf.

quote:

ast season, Ben Zobrist hit 27 home runs in 501 at-bats, or one home run for every 18.6 at-bats. The year before, he hit 12 home runs in just 198 at-bats, or one home run every 16.5 at-bats. Those who think he had a power explosion last year are wrong. He actually had a small regression!

quote:

Last season, Carl Crawford had 44 stolen bases before the All-Star break. He had just 16 after the break despite getting on base at almost the exact same rate.

quote:

Over his career, when he plays third base, Chone Figgins is a .298 hitter. When he plays second base, he's a .268 hitter.

quote:

Of 31 games he pitched last year, Clayton Kershaw pitched more than seven innings only once. He pitched more than six innings only seven times.

quote:

Clayton Kershaw added a slider to his repertoire in early June of last year. From June 1 on, Kershaw had a 2.15 ERA and a 120/56 K/BB ratio in 109 innings pitched. Hitters hit .198 against him. Of pitchers that pitched at least 100 innings, only Felix Hernandez (2.07) had a lower ERA. Kershaw's 120 strikeouts, however, were tied for just 25th. That's probably because …

I had Kershaw in 2 leagues last year, so I followed him pretty good. He doesn't have overpowering stuff and hitters seamed to always work the count against him.

He averaged 99.6 pitches/start in 2009, so I guess that's your answer

if u stash prospects on the bench, its going to hurt you.

we are going to use daily lineups i assume, and you are going to want to max your potential daily by have extra players on the bench to fill in when your main guys have days off.

kind of works the same way.

1 ss
3 of
4 util

5 sp
3 rp

I would rather just say 4 U's instead of having corner and middle if spots.

I'm cool with 8 keepers...seems like a good number. No more than 10.

I'm down with all of the above. The one thing I'd change is roster size - reduce it to around 25. If we have 12-14 teams with 30+ roster spots each, the best players in the FA pool will be Sal Fasano and Troy Mattes.

roster size of 25 will only allow for 5 bench players with 20 starters.

If we reduce the roster size, we'd have to go with 2 util spots.

Since we are doing daily line-up, for pitcher spots, why not 2SP, 2RP, and 3P, this will open up a bench spot and give more flexibility when it comes to pitchers

So make it 27. There's no real need to have a dozen bench spots.

There won't be All Stars in the FA pool, just players who aren't total garbage.

if there are only 12 teams with 30 on each roster, trust me, it will be far from garbage available

I like the original proposed roster of 3OF and 2UTIL.

If the vote was to increases starting roster, then I vote 3UTIL.

agree...it forces everyone to pull the trigger early on SS/2B's and kind of aligns the league towards similar draft strategies

So there are kind of two arguments going on here...

correct...i also proposed the idea to change from 5SP and 3RP, to 2SP, 2RP, & 3P (SP/RP). This opens up a bench spot and provides ample pitching slots, IMO.

Also, not sure how quick CBS is to change status, but I recall numerous times last year (on Yahoo), where a RP would become a starter midseason, and "streamed", it would take a RP slot away. So the P slots provide flexibility

Lets just go with 12 and move on.

and 3 OF 2 UTIL would be fine with me, either way.

Redd said the other day that he would do it if we needed him to. Just include him. If not we can find someone to fill that spot.

Let's get the order set.

if we set the order and team 14 gets a bad pick they may not want to join though
