it wouldn't let me draft who I wanted w/ my last pick...it says my roster was lacking a Catcher..but I have VMart..

so i had to take John Buck

I wanted Brett Cecil..FWIW

You bastard. He was going to be my last pick. As I hit submit on my "frick you toula" message, you logged off.

I was able to follow my strategy early...fill the thin positions (C, 3B, 2B), get a young group of keepers.

And not reach on prospects

I don't understand the infatuation with picking 18-22 year olds. If you are keeping someone with no significant experience, your team isn't very good.

+1

i understand reaching on a for-sure midseason call-up, but not grabbing 3-5.

Hell, I'm not going to be keeping Cameron or Matsui, but they're going to give me solid production in the extra UTIL spots

I picked Ackley incase he blows the hell up and one other prospect in the VERY late rounds.

The reaching was for players that are a year + away from the majors. In an 8 keeper format I can't see the value. I took some young guys later, but most should start the year on the MLB roster. I can't tell who has a good or bad team at this point. The talent is pretty spread out which would indicate pretty good drafting by everyone.

its all about projections...

u could essentially stash a stud this whole season who could be ready for next, and keep him going into next year.

Statistically speaking: All Decker has done since signing in 2008 is hit for average, power and get on base. His .442 OBP in 2009 was second-best in the Minor Leagues. He now has a career .466 OBP and .982 OPS (he's also slugged .516), while hitting .313. He's collected more walks (142) than strikeouts (133).
