I struggled hard deciding between Daniels and Herbert this past week.

I went back and forth and ultimately went with Daniels. Once the game started I immediately regretted it, because I knew Herbert would be in a shootout with the Bengals.

Daniels put up around 14 points which was actually better than it seemed. I think he got a late score that saved him from having a complete dud game. It seemed like a lot of his throws were short and he was avoiding running. And if he doesn't run he doesn't seem as effective with both passing and running. I am wondering if he is playing hurt. It really seemed like their plan was to protect him as much as possible.

Herbert put up 24 points as I sort of expected him to do.

So this week I really need to win and I'm struggling again between these two.

Daniels is at home versus the Cowboys. The Cowboys are a mess, but it seems like they let teams run all over them. So I wonder if that's exactly what the Commanders do here.

Meanwhile Herbert is at home, in a dome which I like, against the Ravens. The Ravens have struggled mightily against the pass. This is also a MNF game which I like. I am strange and if it's a toss up I tend to go with players in the later games. Kind of a superstitious type of thing and knowing I still have points to look forward to after the early games. Herbert has also had some nice rushing upside lately.

I have Daniels over Herbert at the moment, but I'm likely to switch to Herbert. I guess I'm just looking for thoughts on the matchups.

Another thing is I kind of just want to bench Daniels until he goes off again. He has had 2 somewhat bad fantasy games in a row. With all that said I wonder if this will be that week.

His running production has fallen a lot since his rib injury, and it's never been a high volume passing offense. I'd go Herbert, who is in a great spot imo and they seem to be passing more and more as the season goes on.
