Flaherty will make his big-league debut against the Giants on Friday, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports.
Analysis: With the departure of Mike Leake via a trade to Seattle on Wednesday, Flaherty will take his place and start against the Giants on Friday. During 15 outings with Triple-A Memphis this season, Flaherty has posted a 2.74 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with a 85:24 K:BB in 85.1 innings. The right-hander is a top-five prospect in the Cardinals' system, and may continue to earn starts throughout the rest of the 2017 season, especially if Adam Wainwright (elbow) cannot seem to regain full health. Over Flaherty's five August appearances, the 21-year-old has allowed just seven earned runs in 31 innings, and compiled a 4-1 record with 29 strikeouts.
About time...I hadn't had any news worth fapping over in forever.

Allard has caught fire as the season is closing out. He might make it to the show in 2018.

New York Yankees reliever Chad Green had an afternoon to remember in today's first game against the Cleveland Indians. The 26-year-old fireballer set a record with seven strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings, the most in Major League history by a pitcher who faced eight batters or less. Green was unaware of his record after the game, calling it "cool".
57 IP 13.6 K/9, 2.05 ERA, .74 WHIP
stretch this man out next season please.

the two pitches is a major problem
when I first added him last year, everything cuts inside lefties, nothing moves away.

He's gotten better feel for his breaking ball this year. Heat map this year has him pitching mostly away from LHB and lots of Sw% when he goes in on them.
Was looking at successful two pitch starters, looks like Archer is the outlier.
It's boring not being in the playoffs and not caring about football.
