re: Fantasy football dynasty start up league (full)
$100 seems to be the popular option

Almost unanimous so far

$100 or $125 is good for me.

Will the payout be

1st 70%
2nd 20%
3rd 10%

There are also options of weekly high score winner to help keep people engaged for the full season.

Trades going to be voted(don’t necessarily like that)

But need something to protect BS trades or people dumping teams.

I know it’s dynasty.. but it seems like there is always one guy whose sole purpose is to frick everything up if they aren’t winning

re: Fantasy football dynasty start up league (full)
I think league vote vetos are more likely to be abused by salty owners than collusion is to be an actual issue. This has been my experience at least.

I think it's better to have trades automatically pushed through, and if something that is obviously collusion happens then the offending parties are one shot, no second chances, kicked out of the league, subject to judgement of commish. If the commish's judgement becomes an issue, which I'm not anticipating, then the league is dead anyway, so we'll cross that bridge if we get there.

Something else to keep in mind is, like you suggested, it is a perfectly legitimate strategy in dynasty for a rebuilding team to sell an aging star (or just star if the team is low on assets and desperately needs young depth) to a contending team for young future players who haven't broken out yet. You mentioned it vaguely, but there are defensible arguments for things that would look crazy in redraft.

I completely agree about the league vote situation.

Would like to see it immediately pushed through.

I also agree with the payout percentages and would like to see a weekly high score pool inserted.

Again...I’m as flexible as it gets towards all this

When are we going to do the draft?

What other things do we need to figure out? How many play off teams?

re: Fantasy football dynasty start up league (full)
How many playoff teams
When/if to lock free agency
How many years in the future to allow draft picks to be traded
-related to this, some leagues require more than one year of dues at the start to discourage a team from being unredeemably destroyed for years to come by trading away all kind of future picks, alternatively we can allow only 1 year into the future draft pick trading
Rules to discourage tanking
-Bottom feeder penalties
-Draft lottery for non playoff teams (I don't really like this)
-Draft order decided by potential points (This seems like the best idea, but I don't know exactly how it's implemented and if it's something that can be worked into an app)
Draft order for playoff teams, i.e. by regular season finish or tournament finish
How future league rules will be amended (Majority/super majority)

Perhaps a way to decide stuff would be to create the league on whatever app, and then put up a poll on the league page. Also might be a good idea to type up league rules that are decided and put it on a league page/permanent message on league app. I can type the rules once things are more firm.

After that I think we can start the draft ASAP. Waiting to get closer to the season is less important for dynasty leagues.

I agree it is too cluttered on here to vote on everything
