14 team league and the other team is a contender for the playoffs but needs some help to get into it. Think he'll take it?

see this is pure nonsense.

Let's say (without looking it up) that he averages 28-38 pts in a normal scoring system.

and your flex spot averages 11

and your wr1/2 averages 9-13 pts

if you can get a QB in return or off your bench who average say 22 (possibly higher based on stupidity of tradee)

a RB2 (Mathews-Turner-Jackson) who averages 18 pts for your flex spot

a WR1 (C.Johnson, Wallace, Jennings) who averages 18+ pts

so just by asking for Mathews-Wallace (and assuming you can get a QB thrown in or have a decent option on the bench) you probably make out better in terms of total points, which of course is the goal.

The key to trading Rodgers is finding someone who values him enough to pay with TWO premium players at their position. At that point, you can win the deal fairly easily.

Yeah I agree, I definitely don't think Rogers is untradeable, especially since the guy has lost 6 in a row and is due for a lineup change. But he's asking for way too much so I'm just sticking with Eli

rodgers is the most consistent of any of those players...i would not trade him for matthews- wallace. matthews average is pretty good, but he misses games and puts up duds. you don't get that with rodgers. For example, vincent jackson's average is pretty high, but he only helps your lineup 2 weeks out of 8. Rodgers consistent 25 is still more valuable imo then their 30 point average. You will probably only lose around 8 points from the RB and WR you already have also.

i would probably trade him for calvin johnson and fred jackson, but who is offering that?
