we have 2 people quitting who also happened to trade their future 1sts.

what is the best way of fairly re-distributing the talent back into the league?

Can you not find replacement owners?

We dropped from 14 to 12 this past year.

We ended up adding a 5th round to our rookie/FA draft and included the players from the defunct teams.

I would have preferred to have a separate draft for the defunct teams' players but was outvoted.

We're trying but I'm also trying to find solutions if we can't

This is why you redraft

When you’ve got 12 owners that have been in the league for 20 years working on their teams, redraft isn’t an option. I’d expect most would just leave if they had to start over due to something outside their control.

What are the league details? Can you post the team rosters? Even though they don’t have future first(s), maybe someone here would be interested in joining…

There’s simply no fair way to do a draft pool. You’re talking about a 20 year league with tons of work being ruined because potentially 10+ elite players are entering the draft pool

A middling team did not go through the season with the thought that a Mahomes / Adams / Chase would be in the draft pool. That gives a MASSIVE advantage to the bottom feeder teams, even though they do need the most help.

If you’re going to have a draft pool from these two teams, you need to make these players ineligible to be drafted until there’s a draft year where everyone has all of their rookie picks.

Inserting these players into a draft pool is league changing.

I’d be pretty pissed if elite players were entered into the draft pool without a lengthy heads up.

If I made a win now trade in 2022 revolving around my 2023 first and that bombed, I’m fricked. Would I have made that trade if I knew elite veteran players would be available? Most likely not

There has to be a grace period just like converting to Superflex

That is why I preferred to have a separate draft where everyone had all their picks. In my league's case, I think the only traded picks were in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

In the end, I went 13-1 during the reg season and won the league so I can't complain now too much. Trading D-Hop for Josh Jacobs last offseason really helped.

How would you determine draft order?

The drop off from pick 1 to 2 could be insane. Hell, the drop off from pick 6 to pick 10 could be even larger

Personally, I would have been fine going with the reverse order of finishing the season.

I know you didn't ask, but here are the non-rookies that were picked in the combined draft...in order

1st rd
Dak - owner REALLY needed a QB and took Dak 1.01
Javonte 1.02
Dalvin Cook 1.03
DJ Moore 1.08
Fournette 1.10
Zeke 1.12

2nd rd
Gage
Tua

3rd rd
Lance
Freiermuth
Mac Jones

4th rd
Knox
DAL D
NE D
DEN D
HOU D (defenses are never available via waivers)
LV D

5th rd
Jamaal Williams
Ertz
Jarvis Landry

Add their players to the pool of rookie players and draft accordingly.

I’ve got Chase and Jefferson in my main dynasty, I would absolutely melt if we had to redraft

Have an auction draft for the two teams worth of players, did this last year. Everyone has same budget.

I like the idea, but What happens when multiple people bid their whole budget on an elite player? lol
